Like any projects, the producer, as project leader, needs to know where the video production is going and how it is going to get there. We have formulated the checklist below so that video producers and filmmakers can put their video productions in perspective with common purpose and get the job done without surprises.

As the project leader, it is imperative that you know what you want from your project and that you communicate this to the filmmaker.
Who is the audience for the video and what is the message that you want to convey to your audience?

You undertake to either phone or email the producer within 24 hours of your acceptance of the bid to gather further details about the producer’s project from the producer.

Do you want to be actively involved in outlining the video’s details? If so, you should write a creative brief for the video. Identify the film style, and write a script, if you want. Alternatively, the filmmaker can easily do this as part of the project.

As the film director, it is essential that you communicate with the producer and understand exactly who the audience will be and what message the producer wants to convey to the audience.

It is our objective that you receive 3 competitive bids from filmmakers within 72 hours of your request – all at no charge to you.

Once you understand the producer’s needs and calculate the underlying costs of creating the film, you will provide the producer with a price and scheduled delivery date.

Once you have evaluated and negotiated the filmmakers’ bids, you will choose a winning bidder within the time period that you indicated in your original request for quotation.*

Your objective should be to issue your competitive bid to the producer within 72 hours of the original request.

You then create the contract with the filmmaker. You can use the simple templates provided. Within the contract you should identify the key deliverables and rights responsibilities.

You work with the producer to detail your agreement in a contract. You can use the simple templates provided. Within the contract you should identify the key deliverables.

You pay 50% of the project price to MyFilmmaker.com. Once you approve the Rough Cut (first version),we release these funds to filmmaker.

Once Rough Cut is delivered and accepted by Producer, MyFilmmaker.com releases 50% less administrative fee to you.

You pay remaining 50% of the project price to MyFilmmaker.com. Once you approve the Final Cut,we release these funds to filmmaker.

Once Final Cut is delivered and accepted by Producer, MyFilmmaker.com releases account balance less administrative fee to you.

You agree to use the Myfilmmaker.com bidding system only for real projects that you are likely to undertake.

You will immediately advise the producer of any deviations from the original contract, and will negotiate in good faith with producer to amend contract accordingly.

Once a payment milestone has been reached, you agree to promptly pay the contracted amount.

You undertake to meet your project milestones on time.

You will be invited to rate the filmmaker’s performance and your satisfaction with the system.

You will be invited to rate the producer’s performance.
